Course Description:       

The course is designed to familiarize you with professional knowledge about and skills for effective speaking and presentation in English. You will learn how to select a suitable topic according to the rhetorical situation, choose content according to the audience's knowledge and interest, organize ideas into a well-structured outline, use appropriate, accurate, and vivid language, add impact with a strong introduction and conclusion, and enhance your speech/presentation with relevant speech delivery techniques.

You will have plenty of opportunities to conduct conversations, interviews and discussion with your partners and report results, give presentations and make comments on others’ presentations in oral and written modes. You are expected to preview the content of each chapter and actively participate in class discussion and activities.
